Ted Koppel was the long-time moderator of the news show “Nightline.”
In a speech at Duke University when his daughter was graduating, he said this: “We have actually convinced ourselves that slogans will save us. Shoot up if you must, but use a clean needle. Enjoy sex whenever and with whomever you wish, but wear a condom.
“No! The answer is no. Not because it isn’t cool or smart or because you might end up in jail or dying in an AIDS ward, but because it’s wrong, because we have spent 5,000 years as a race of rational human beings, trying to drag ourselves out of the primeval slime by searching for truth and moral absolutes.
“In its purest form, truth is not a polite tap on the shoulder. It is a howling reproach. What Moses brought down from Mount Sinai were not the Ten Suggestions.”
Truth is like a surgery. It hurts, but the operation lasts. A lie is like a pain killer. It gives instant relief, but the troublesome side effects last a long time.
Unless we stand for SOMETHING, we will fall for ANYTHING!

Why are so many people having so much trouble finding the truth today? They settle for “alternative facts,” but not the truth. Are we trying to say that Moses really brought down the Ten Suggestions from the mountain?
THE SHIFT IN MY THINKING BEGAN WHEN I REALIZED THAT TRUTH SETS US FREE AND THAT JESUS IS THE TRUTH!
This is a Message so needed today. Please share it as well as my Podcast.
