The Voice of “We the People”
The voice of “We the People” is quiet yet strong,
It forever rises for justice, it silences wrong.
No power can bind it, no ruler can command,
For truth finds its echo in our hallowed land.
It murmurs in cities, it hums through the plain,
It calls out for mercy, for healing of pain.
When leaders grow distant and walls start to climb,
“We the People” remind them of duty and time.
Each ballot, each word, each stand that we take,
Keeps freedom alive for conscience’s sake.
The humblest of hearts, the poorest of hands,
Can shape the direction where liberty stands.
“We the People” are patient, but never asleep,
We treasure the promises freedom must keep.
We guard what was earned with courage and cost,
So no dream of justice is ever lost.
So listen, O leaders, with reverent ear,
The voice of “We the People” is the one to revere.
For nations endure when the many and few,
Are bound by the will to seek what is true.

My Commentary:
“We the People” is the opening phrase of the Preamble to the United States Constitution, signifying that the government’s power comes from the citizens, not from a monarch. These words reflect the sacred balance between those who lead and those who lend their trust.
“We the People” is a chorus of conscience that shapes the moral compass of our nation.
True democracy requires both courage and humility — courage from its citizens to speak, and humility from leaders to listen. When leaders lose touch with those they serve, power becomes hollow. But when they honor the voices of ordinary people, government becomes grace in action.
The words of the poem remind us that democracy isn’t loud or angry by nature. Often, it speaks in whispers — in the quiet vote cast, the thoughtful letter written, the peaceful protest walked. It is sustained not by noise and braggarts, but by integrity.

My Prayer Reflection:
God of Wisdom and Justice,
You dwell in the heart of every person
and You speak through the hopes of “We the People.”
Give our leaders ears to hear what is right,
and hearts that do not turn away from truth.
Let the cry of the poor and the call for fairness
ring louder than the voice of pride or fear.
Teach us all, Lord, to value one another,
no matter who are neighbor is,
to speak kindly yet boldly,
and to act with faith that heals and unites.
May our words uplift rather than divide,
and our choices reflect Your justice and peace.
Let the voice of “We the People” be the voice of love —
strong, steady, and free.
Amen.
