After you read today’s Daily Treat, please continue to LISTEN TO MY PODCAST.  After the Message, I give my COMMENTARY & A PRAYER REFLECTION on today’s Message. I think you will enjoy it.

In these days of specialization, it is rare to see a professional baseball pitcher last through nine innings of a game. If he does, it is called “going the distance.”

More often than not, a pitcher will grow tired. His fastballs start to lose a little of their zip, and the curveballs are not as sharp as they were at the beginning of the game. The manager will go to the mound and signal to the bullpen for a relief pitcher.

Especially in recent years, the strength of a professional baseball team has many times been judged by the strength and performance of those relief pitchers who come in and complete the game.

In these days of selfishness and putting ourselves first, it is rare to see a love that lasts and lasts, that “goes the distance.” More often than not, those of us who should be demonstrating this kind of love grow tired and weary as the “game” wears on.

In January, 2025 Bill Gates said that his divorce from Melinda was “the mistake I most regret. You would have to put that at the top of the list,” when asked about the failures in his life. “There are others but none that matter. There is a certain wonderfulness to spending your entire adult life with one person because of the memories and depth of things you have done and having kids together.”

Bill Gates, worth more than $113 billion, learned the hard way that a time-tested bond is one of the few luxuries in life that money can’t buy.

What is a regret in YOUR life where YOU were not able “to go the distance?”

GOD GAVE US OUR RELATIVES. THANK GOD WE CAN CHOOSE OUR FRIENDS!
