Alvin Toffler’s book “Future Shock,” published in 1970, predicted a future shaped by rapid technological and societal change, and many of his predictions, though not all, have come to fruition.

While some predictions, like underwater cities or family-owned spaceships, are still far from reality, his ideas about the pace of change and its impact on individuals and society have been widely debated and have resonated with many people.

There was a quote in the book that has been repeated many times: “The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read or write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.”

Toffler explains how, in this modern world of rapid change, confusion and over-choice, we all need some kind of “stability zones” – regular habits, rituals, beliefs – whatever it is that gives us a stable point of reference.

It would be difficult to deny the wisdom of Toffler’s observation, or to miss its application to the role of religious faith in our lives. The grace of God as revealed in Jesus, who is surely our ultimate stability zone.

God didn’t remove the Red Sea, God parted it. Sometimes God doesn’t remove your problems, God makes a way through them.

Think of a time when God helped make a way through YOUR problems.

JESUS DOES NOT LEAD YOU WITH THE INTENTION TO LEAVE YOU. THROUGH EVERY SEASON, JESUS STAYS!
