Not too long ago, we were all children fair,
With hearts full of wonder, without a care.
Faith unwavering, joy so pure,
In a world of miracles, we felt secure.

For children, laughter is their song,
They play and dance all day long.
Each moment brims with anticipation,
A world alive with fascination.

Now as adults, we think we’ve changed,
Our attitudes and views are rearranged.
But the wonder and mystery still reside,
If only we’d let our hearts be our guide.

The miracles haven’t gone away,
They’re here with us, every day.
So let’s reclaim that childlike grace,
And see the world with a smiling face.

The wonder, the magic, they still bloom,
In every heart, in every room.
Nothing’s changed but how we see,
The world’s still full of mystery.

WRAP YOURSELF IN GOD’S LOVE ON A DAILY BASIS AND LET IT BE YOUR GUIDE FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO!

My Commentary:

Somewhere along the journey of growing up, we lose something precious. Not our ability to see, but our ability to wonder.

As children, we marveled at butterflies, chased rainbows, laughed without embarrassment, and believed tomorrow would bring something wonderful.

Then adulthood arrived. Responsibilities multiplied. Worries replaced wonder. We became so busy managing life that we sometimes forgot to enjoy it.

Jesus understood what we were losing. He told His disciples, “Unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”

Jesus wasn’t asking us to become childish. He was inviting us to become childlike. To trust again. To forgive more easily. To laugh more freely. To believe that goodness is still possible. The miracles haven’t disappeared. A sunrise is still magnificent. A newborn baby is still astonishing. An unexpected kindness can still bring tears to our eyes.

The world hasn’t lost its wonder. Perhaps we’ve simply stopped noticing.

And maybe that is why Jesus placed a child in the midst of His disciples. To remind us that faith begins with open hearts, not complicated minds.

Growing older is inevitable. Growing cynical is optional.

So today, wrap yourself in God’s love. Look around with a child’s eyes.

The world is still filled with God’s miracles. Don’t grow too old to notice them.

What wonder of God’s world did YOU notice yesterday and take the time to savor?
