“I saw the cross on his collar, and I broke down in tears.”

That’s what Artemis II Commander Reid Wiseman said after returning from one of the most intense experiences a human being can have.

Think about what that means.

This is a man who had just been through the kind of mission most people cannot even imagine. Years of training. Enormous pressure. The vastness of space. The fragility of human life set against something far bigger than us. He had just come back from seeing creation from a perspective that almost no one in history has ever seen.

And after all of that, the moment that hit him emotionally was seeing a chaplain with a cross on his collar.

That says something.

There are moments when human achievement reaches its limit. Moments when accomplishment, intelligence, discipline, and technology can take you incredibly far, but still cannot answer the deeper weight a person feels when faced with the magnitude of existence itself.

That is exactly why Romans 1:20 says: “For his invisible attributes, that is, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen since the creation of the world, being understood through what he has made. As a result, people are without excuse.”

Creation reveals something. Not everything there is to know about God, but enough to make His power undeniable.

The heavens do not preach atheism.

The universe does not whisper meaninglessness.

Creation testifies.

And maybe that is part of why this moment is resonating with so many people.

A man who sees the earth, the heavens, the scale of everything around him, comes back down, sees the symbol of Christ, and breaks down in tears.

You do not have to force that moment. You do not have to exaggerate it. It speaks for itself.

Because even in a world obsessed with science, progress, and human capability, there are still moments that remind us we are not self-sufficient. We are creatures standing inside a creation that points beyond itself.
