“When GOD wanted to create fish, HE spoke to the sea.
When GOD wanted to create trees, HE spoke to the earth.
But, when GOD wanted to create man, HE turned to himself.
Then, GOD said “Let us make man in our image and in our likeness.”
If you take a fish out of water, it will die;
And when you remove a tree from soil, it will also die.
Likewise, when man is disconnected from GOD, he dies.
GOD is our natural environment.
We were created to live in God’s presence.
We have to be connected to God because it is only in God that life exists.
Let us stay connected to GOD.”

My Commentary:
This beautiful reflection presents a poetic and powerful truth: all living things draw their life from the source from which they came. Fish need water. Trees need soil. Humanity—created not from the sea or the earth, but by God’s own intention and likeness—needs God.
The deeper message is clear: just as the fish and the tree cannot survive outside their natural environments, so too we wither without a vital connection to our Creator. God is not merely a distant observer or a divine rule-giver; God is our environment—our atmosphere, our source, our sustainer. We were designed to dwell in His presence, to find meaning, purpose, and life in Him.
The challenge today is not merely to believe in God but to remain connected to God—to abide in Him as the branch abides in the vine (John 15). Disconnection leads to spiritual dryness, emptiness, and ultimately, death.
Let us, then, live in continual communion with the One who made us in His image. For in Him, we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28). May we not merely visit God, but dwell in Him.
How often do YOU reflect upon the fact that YOU cannot survive without YOUR vital connection to YOUR Creator?
