CAN YOU JUST IMAGINE
Can you just imagine,
If Heaven had a phone?
Yes we would still miss them,
But we’d never feel alone.
Can you just imagine,
If Heaven had visiting hours?
When we could see our loved one’s face,
Oh Lord, to have those powers!
Can you just imagine that in dreams,
They’re really there?
A place where we met regularly,
To ease the pain we bear.
I don’t think we need to imagine,
Because I do believe.
That they are with us always,
Soothing as we grieve.
Though it is not enough,
Grief breaks the strongest heart
Just know it’s not forever,
That you’ll have to be apart.

My Reflection for All Souls Day:
Imagine picking up the telephone and hearing the voice of someone you loved who has died.
Imagine one more conversation, one more embrace, one more opportunity to say, “I love you.”
Wouldn’t that be wonderful?
On All Souls Day, we remember those whose absence has left an emptiness in our hearts.
But Christianity offers us something greater than imagination. It offers us hope.
Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, even though he dies, will live.”
We don’t know exactly what heaven will be like. But we believe that love does not end at the cemetery. The people we love are not simply memories of yesterday. We entrust them to God’s eternal love. And someday, we hope to embrace them again.
Perhaps heaven doesn’t need telephones or visiting hours. Because in heaven, there will be no more goodbyes, no more separation, and no more death.
Only love. Forever.
Do YOU believe that you will be reunited with your loved ones in the next world? What do you think such a reunion be like for you?
